Cela parait étonnant qu'il y ait des suppléments aussi développés car le film fait partie d'une collection composée d'autres titres qui ressortent sur le sol britannique : LA MAISON PRES DU CIMETIERE de Fulci ou encore le MACABRE de Lamberto Bava.

Les américains n'ont jamais su vendre ce film de toute façon...

C'est vrai que par rapport à son succès en salle dans le reste du monde, c'est dommage !

Le film s'était remboursé si mes souvenirs sont bons en deux semaines d'exploitation en Italie, avait bien bidé en France par contre mais les ventes dvd/télé internationales ont dû être correctes je suppose? SWS doit être plus au courant que moi des chiffres exacts...à part "Suspiria" et les trois premiers gialli qui ont fait quelques entrées en Espagne à l'époque, on cherche encore les Argento qui ont marché dans les salles hors Italie (et Japon)

Le blu ray US est cut d'une ligne de dialogue apparemment...si SWS peut confirmer :

The reason it's off is that the shot with the swan somehow got cut short. Based on the Edition Tonfilm version, it should stay on the swan for: "Now, the long swan's neck he'll fix/When he cuts..." Then it goes to the shot of Dionisi's face for: "...it from her head, he knows that his last foe is dead." Then it cuts to von Sydow for: "The break of day, the farmer in his bed now..." And then it cuts to the book for: "...lay/With all his weapons in a heap..." And then it's back to von Sydow for: "Now he can finally go to sleep." The Scorpion version doesn't even include the last line of the nursery rhyme. So disappointing, as that's a very important line. I mean, the movie is called Sleepless, but we don't even get the line that tells us the farmer can sleep after he kills all the beasts. Ugh!

So I checked the Italian against the Medusa DVD, but it's a lot harder for me to compare since I don't speak Italian. I was able to catch a few words phonetically though and I'm pretty sure that the cuts line up with the DVD towards the end of the nursery rhyme. I'm guessing that something was cut from the Italian audio around the time of the shorter swan shot, allowing the rest to fall into place. Well, at least it plays nicely in Italian. I'll just have to go back to the Edition Tonfilm if I want to listen to it in English.
