Sur IMDB, dans les crédits de production du II et du III, il y a bien le nom de' sa compagnie. De Laurentiis n'a pas produit le I, mais a produit les deux suivants. Ensuite, il a revendu les droits qu'il avait sur la série à Moustapha Akkad (qui avait financé le premier) après le bide du III.

Là aussi, sa compagnie est créditée dans "Production companies", même si De Laurentiis n'est pas crédité en producteur.

Après le bide de "Dune", Lynch et De Laurentiis se sont mis d'accord pour faire un second film ensemble (à moins que Lynch ait signé pour deux films ? je ne me souviens plus exactement) pour un budget très bas (comparé à "Dune") à la condition que Lynch ait, cette fois, une totale liberté artistique et, surtout, le director's cut, qu'il exigera toujours par la suite (il a été traumatisé par le remontage de "Dune", expérience qu'il considère comme la pire de sa vie profedssionnelle).
