Early disc specs have arrived for the new extended edition of Ridley Scott's Gladiator which stars Russell Crowe. The three-disc set will be available to own from the 7th June, and will add seventeen minutes of additional footage to the film. The original theatrical cut will also be included, so no need to worry about that. The complete technical specs haven't been revealed yet I'm afraid, although we'd be very surprised if DTS wasn't offered once again. We'll bring you further details and the official artwork shortly, but for now here's the full rundown on the extra material. We'd like to extend our thanks to Lara Means for this one.

J'ai beaucoups aimé "Gladiator", par contre, je dois avouer que la mix de scène coupé et de plans coupés présent en bonus dans le DVD m'a l'air un gout amère dans la bouche. Visiblement, Ridley Scott s'est auto censuré sur de nombreuses scènes (faut voir le nombre de plans gores initalement prévu qui sont abscent du métrage final ! Les combats entre gladiateurs étaient notament beaucoups plus sanglants à l'origine).
Alors, j'espère que ces 17 minutes de scènes supplémentaires contiendront les plans gores qui ont été tournés, et aussi réintegrerons des scènes coupées qui m'avaient l'aissé bien sympa comme celles des chretiens dans la fosse aux lions par exemple.
J'aimerais bien savoir si il existe actuellement une édition DVD uncut de "gladiator" version ciné.
En effet, certains plans de la version ciné semblent être abscent de la version DVD, notament ceux montrant le fils de Maximus se faire pietinner par les cheuvaux des centurions.
Je confirme, le gros défaut de gladiator, c le filmage bordélique des scenes de combats. à peine on voit un egerbe de sang, vite on passe au plan suivant. L'ombre du maitre Michael Bay n'est pas loin.
Par conre, j'ia hate de voir cette version uncut. Ridley scott a montré avec christophe colomb qu'il n'hesite pas à recourrir au gore plus craspec!
Avis aux nouveaux forumers, il est parfaitement normal voir de santé publique d'envoyer chier manolito au moins une fois.

Ouais, enfin, attention, là, on ne parle pas de Director's cut, mais d'extented cut, nuance.
Rien ne prouve malheureusement que cette version sera plus violente que la version actuelle, surtout si les coupes effectuées la première fois par ridley scott l'ont été de son propre chef.
We've checked with our sources and learned that, because this title is still in production, this list isn't entirely correct (although the final release should be very close to this). For one thing, the 3 hour and 20 minute Strength and Honor: Creating the World of Gladiator documentary takes up virtually the entire second disc in the set. The other "extras" you see listed under this on Disc Two are actually the titles of chapters of the documentary, some of which have changed since this list was issued. We've learned that a couple of the special features listed were from an early disc proposal and are not part of this set, while you should also expect a few additional special features not yet revealed. Finally, we've learned that there will be no DTS track, owing to the disc space demands of including two versions of the film on a single DVD disc via seamless branching, while still keeping the presentation quality high (an unfortunate but understandable sacrifice that will nevertheless likely be a sticking point with some fans). We'll update you as things become more finalized on this release. Look for an announcement from DreamWorks and Universal on this title sometime in the next few months, along with final disc specs and the official release date.

Pourtant si y'a un truc à sauver dans le film c'est bien la qualité du jeu des acteurs et de certains dialogues, parce qu'à côté j'irais certainement pas qualifier le film de "virtuose".
