That billboard around John Carpenter's neck with the words 'Work Wanted' seems to have paid off. Someone saw it. Someone's interest was sparked. Someone's about to write him a cheque for another movie.

The veteran filmmaker - whose credits include "The Thing" and "Big Trouble in Little China" - will team with Titan Productions on Psychopath, a new project to be developed concurrently as a videogame and film. Yep, you read that right, the game's going to be unleashed around the same time as the cinematic offering.

"Psychopath", according to Variety, is about an ex-CIA operative called back into action to stop a serial killer who begins to question his own sanity.

Carpenter will direct and co-write the film, as well as oversee the game and direct its produced scenes. Todd Farmer, of "Jason X" fame, will help write the film.

In addition to "Psychopath", it was announced last week that Carpenter is dusting off his Nikon for "The Apostle", a thriller about a Pittsburgh detective and a stockbroker, as they try to solve the mystery behind a string of gruesome murders.
