Bob Geldof has announced plans for this summer's Live 8 concerts.
Shows will take place in London's Hyde Park and at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Circus Maximus in Rome and in Philadelphia, on July 2.
Geldof told a press conference: "I was very reluctant to do this again, I couldn't see how anything could possibly be better than that glorious day 20 years ago."
"But Bono and Richard [Curtis] in particular kept saying, 'Do it again'… It seemed to me that we could gather again, not for charity but for political justice."
Artists confirmed for the London show include Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Sir Elton John, Madonna, Scissor Sisters, Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Robbie Williams, U2 and REM.
Will Smith, Dave Matthews Band, Bon Jovi, Stevie Wonder, P. Diddy and Jay-Z will all appear in Philadelphia.
Brian Wilson, Lauryn Hill and A-ha will perform in Berlin, Faith Hill and Duran Duran will play in Rome and Jamiroquai and Craig David will appear at the Paris show.
