Oh really? Well then I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving us a detailed account of exactly how you concocted this miracle glue, would you ?

Re: Mad Max : Fury Road - George Miller (2015)
"Rated R For "Intense Sequences of Violence Throughout and for Disturbing Images" Hmmm... The first part of the rating I get. The second part, if they are referring to the crazy ass costumes and Hodges FLASH GORDON-NESS of the whole thing, well...
The movie I saw needed some help in the middle, but was really, really fun.
I watched THE ROAD WARRIOR shortly after FURY ROAD and, I gotta say, the action and dry humor of RW is very present and accounted for in FR as well. Sometimes even more so, and to satisfying effect.
I thought THE ROAD WARRIOR was the best of the three, as well. But this one is right up there because it makes no bones about being completely bat-shit crazy, with absolutely NO apologies and the practical stunts are far better. It has a tit-milking machine, for fuck's sake. There was no need for it, but it was there because it COULD be. Hahaha! Miller was having a blast revisiting this world, and so was everyone else. The first 35 minutes of FURY ROAD has an energy that is equal to the whole of THE ROAD WARRIOR.
There isn't really a story, honestly. It's one big chase with a threadbare set-up... Which is why it's a love letter to THE ROAD WARRIOR, really. Miller knows the action and stunts are what the fans want, and he delivers. When I saw it, it was a solid 120 minutes without credits. Makes me wonder what's staying and going in the final version.
The characters are pretty amazing in this. I'm not kidding when I say it reminded me a lot of Hodges' FLASH GORDON with the craziness of the costumes and characters. The action sequences are the best of the four.
Admittedly, I thought the middle section was pretty weak, almost as if the scriptwriters were looking for story direction on where to take the film. It has an AMAZING first 40 minutes, and a pretty awesome last 35. The middle is fine, but needs work... There were strange "snippets" of things they encounter in the desert that went nowhere... Like they were putting things in to gauge some sort of response on what people liked and disliked to expand upon later. They've certainly fixed it, because the middle won't work in the state I saw it in for release. FURY ROADs story is the weakest link, but the characters and crazy action are turned up to 11."

Re: Mad Max : Fury Road - George Miller (2015)

Re: Mad Max : Fury Road - George Miller (2015)

Re: Mad Max : Fury Road - George Miller (2015)
