Mya vs Retrofilm
1- 21m 36s. 12 seconds cut at end of shot of Roberto (Michael Brandon) embracing Nina (Mimsy Farmer), and start of following shot of Roberto walking towards man in hammock.
2- 35m 14s. 10 seconds of dialogue at start of party scene cut, as Dalia (Francine Racette) introduces herself to Roberto, and Nina says "My little cousin's taking a vacation. She's going to be staying with us for a while".
3- 51m 50s. 9 seconds cut at end of shot of cyclist approaching Roberto, and start of following shot showing Dalia walking towards a seated Roberto and kneeling by his chair.
4- 69m 2s. 17 seconds missing at end of shot of dying man, and start of following conversation between Roberto and Andrea (Stefano Satta Flores):
Andrea: "Then I've actually established that in 4000 years of civilization, there have been only 230 years of peace. Incredible, isn't it?
Roberto: Look, Andrea, I'm just not in the mood. What did you want to see me about?"
The image that accompanies the latter line is present on MYA's disc, but the line is missing from the soundtrack.
Additionally, Argento shot several inserts showing letters written by the killer in both Italian and English variants. MYA's transfer uses the Italian variants (with no translation of any kind!), whereas Retrofilm's uses the English ones. These can be found in the following places on MYA's disc:
1- 39m 33s. "E' stato Facile" (the English variant reads "It was so easy").
2- 45m 7s. "Adesso e' finita tocca a te" (the English variant reads "The game is up - you're NEXT - ")
At 69m 47s and 69m 56s, there are two close-ups of a newspaper headline in Italian. These also appear in Italian in the Retrofilm version, but there they are accompanied by subtitles which do not appear in MYA's transfer.
Oh really? Well then I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving us a detailed account of exactly how you concocted this miracle glue, would you ?
