Due out from Celestial, distributed by Deltamac, is the 3-DVD documentary boxset on the subject matters of Swordplay, Kung Fu and the Shaw Brothers.
From the press release: Cinema Hong Kong: Swordplay will allow audiences to see how 5000 years of Chinese history can be traced through the Swordplay movie genre, from early Shanghai clips to its resurrection in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Cinema Hong Kong: Kung Fu will look at the realism Bruce Lee brought to films, his effect on the industry, as well as comedic kung fu's beginnings and the star that embodies the style most, Jackie Chan. Interviews with martial artists Jet Li and Gordon Liu and directors such as John Woo are included. Cinema Hong Kong: Beauties of the Shaw Studio will see rare interviews with Sir Run Run Shaw himself, and the studio's most popular actresses, such as Linda Lin Dai. The studio produced a number of female talents during Hong Kong's heydays of filmmaking.
These documentaries will be released in Taiwan by Deltamac. IVL has no plans at the moment to release them in Hong Kong.

Je viens de voir le documentaire consacré aux wuxia.
Ca reste avant tout destiné à ceux qui ne connaissent rien au genre:
Présentation de Chang Cheh et Chu Yan, qlq images d’archives de vieux wuxia style buddha palm, des interview bateaux de chang peipei et john woo et énormément d’extraits des classiques.
Un honnête documentaire de vulgarisation qui sur la fin cache mal ses prétentions publicitaires...assez deçu donc!
Je retiens surtout l’extrait de Vaillant Ones qui a été restauré...c’est autre chose que la copie de Deauville ! J’en déduit ça sortira donc chez Celestial...
je ne connais que très peu de choses concernant le wu xia pan donc ça ne me gêne pas plus que ça perso... Si ça reste dans les tarifs pratiqués à HK, je prends à coup sur
