Fox Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Voyage to The Bottom of The Sea Volume 1 for 21st February 2006 priced at $39.98 SRP. Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea was the brainchild of Writer/Producer/Director Irwin Allen... the "Master of Disaster."It ran on ABC 1964-1968 and was for its four years of some of the best and most exciting science fiction on TV at the time. The classic adventures aboard the "SSRN Seaview" will captivate you today, as much as they did in the 60s.
Episodes are spread across four double-sided discs with the following features:
1.33:1 Full Frame
English, French and Spanish Mono
English and Spanish subtitles
Unaired Pilot (Eleven Days to Zero)

J'avais enregistré, étant petit garçon, cher Jérôme, la musique du générique de cette série dont je ne manquais aucun épisode (Ah ! Richard Basehart et son second Al Hedison : toute mon enfance !!) avec un magnétophone Philips à casette audio, en posant soigneusement le micro devant le haut-parleur de notre télévision N.&B. : cela devait être vers 1970 ! Et j'ai ensuite découvert bien plus tard le film LM d'Irwin Allen à la Cinémathèque République... je crois bien me souvenir que Gans était dans la salle d'ailleurs, j'allais dire "bien entendu" ! Cela devait être un double-programme LE SOUS-MARIN DE l'APOCALYPSE et ATARAGON de Honda d'ailleurs... beau double-programme.

Je viens de voir le coffret sur amazon.
La version française a disparu des spécifications (même pas de sous-titres français disponibles
) et de nombreux acheteurs se plaignent de problèmes rencontrés avec ces DVDs (sauts, blocages, etc.)
