Del Toro à propos de Hellboy 2
In a webchat with Empire Online readers, "Hellboy" director Guillermo del Toro who's currently writing the sequel, talked about its plot and potential future films.
The idea of a trilogy has come up - "I would love to make Hellboy into a trilogy. Creatively, Mike Mignola and I know that we want to at least do that. Economically, it's the studio's decision" says Del Toro.
What's the second one's story? "We tried to do an entire sequel based on the Roger [a homunculus created by a scientist to bring about the end of the world] origin story, and found it to be actually very similar to what Hellboy is in the first movie - a conflicted monster. So the sequel will have another BPRD member, Johan the Ectoplasmic Agent".
What about his assorted other projects: "I am hopefully doing a version of At The Mountains Of Madness. My dream for that movie would be to band together with people like Gahan Wilson, Corbin, Geiger, Moebius and the lot and conceptualise a truly cosmic horror movie". He also has "the mother of all ghost stories, which is called Crimson Peak. It's a Gothic Victorian horror tale, done in the 19th century, and I hope to get down and start writing it in the mid-future".
