Un film que j'ai poncé pendant mes années collège (peut être même mon premier Carpenter tout court, quand j'y réfléchis)! Plusieurs décénnies après, je redécouvrais H.P. Lovecraft qui est vite devenu un des auteurs favoris de fiction, tout est lié! Au delà des thématiques bien évidemment liées au Monsieur cité juste avant, c'est vraiment une impression de cauchemar éveillé et de paranoïa comme rarement vue auparavant que je retiens du métrage, au delà de la performance de Neil. Il n'est pas parfait, ça sent parfois un peu le budget serré (au vu des ambitions de Big John en tout cas) mais ça participe à son charme! Et la fin est juste dingue! Un métrage bien plus riche qu'il n'y parait, comme Prince des Ténèbres d'ailleurs!
